Ishaq (Arabic إسحق or إسحاق) is a prophet of
Islam mentioned in the Quran. It is the Arabic name for Isaac.
Ishaq was the second son of Ibrahim by his first-wife Sarah.
Islamic tradition holds that he was born nine years after
Ishmael who was Ibrahim's son from his second-wife Hagar. He was
born after Ibrahim attempted to sacrifice Ishmael. Ishaq lived
in Canaan and was made a prophet there. He was married at the
age of 40. He also had twin sons, Yisau and Yaqub. As he grew
older, he went blind. When he died, he was buried in Hebron
along with his parents.
