Mujahideen (Arabic: ãÌÇåÏíäý, mugāhidīn,
"strugglers") is an Arabic term for those who engage in Islamic
holy war–jihad ("struggle"). The word
is a plural form of ãÌÇåÏ, mugāhid, which literally translated
from Arabic means "struggler" but is often translated in the
West as "holy warrior." The opposite of mujahideen is qaideen–people
who remain inactive and do not actively fight
